mission upcycling

2nd Life for Textile Waste

Le bac rose is an upcycling workshop that offers zero waste everyday accessories, DIY sewing kits and sewing supplies. Our mission: make something new with something old! We source used clothing and household fabrics from local thrift stores.

Made in Quebec, Canada

Our products are designed, cut and sewn in the Province of Quebec, Canada. Our seamstresses receive a fair wage and work in safe conditions.

We reduce the carbon footprint of our products by upcycling unloved textiles: this means less mileage from the textile fiber to the final product, so very little greenhouse gas!

Washable and Reusable Products

Use, wash and reuse! This small gesture, repeated daily, allows you to reduce your environmental footprint. The good news is that a large majority of the objects around us can be replaced by a washable and reusable alternative!

Project Initiator

"As as fashion designer, I have seen the astronomical amount of textile waste that ends up in landfills every year. I want to thing outside the box and offer innovative solutions to reduce the amount of textile waste and to help the local community gain autonomy through learning how to sew and make your own repairs.

It is a totally different mentality: with slow fashion (in opposition to fast fashion or disposable fashion), why not learn to repair a hole in your jeans or to upcycle sheets to make bags? It is possible for each of us to make a difference!"
